Our Astaxanthin Ingredient Pledge
At Astadaily, we believe a better astaxanthin supplement starts long before the softgel is made.
It starts with the source of the astaxanthin, how the microalgae are cultivated, how the astaxanthin is extracted, what other ingredients are added, how the finished product is tested, and how every softgel is protected until you take it.
That is why we take a purposeful approach to formulation. We choose ingredients and processes that support the quality of our natural astaxanthin, and leave out those that do not belong.
NO Synthetic Astaxanthin
Not all astaxanthin comes from the same source.
Astadaily uses natural astaxanthin derived from Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae. We do not substitute chemically synthesized astaxanthin for the natural microalgae-derived ingredient at the center of our products.
Our natural astaxanthin is produced as part of a controlled cultivation and extraction process designed specifically around this carotenoid.
NO Open-Pond Cultivation for Our Astaxanthin
How microalgae are grown matters to us.
Astadaily cultivates its astaxanthin-producing microalgae in a proprietary closed bioreactor system rather than relying on conventional open cultivation.
A closed environment provides greater control over growing conditions and helps protect the microalgae throughout cultivation. This allows quality to be considered from the very beginning of the astaxanthin production process, not only after the ingredient has been extracted.
NO Harsh Chemical-Solvent Extraction
Astaxanthin has to be separated from the microalgae before it can become part of a finished supplement.
Astadaily uses supercritical CO₂ extraction rather than harsh chemical-solvent extraction for its natural astaxanthin.
Our process begins with advanced cell-wall disruption and continues with supercritical CO₂ extraction to obtain the astaxanthin-rich oil while maintaining a production approach centered on purity and quality.
NO Synthetic Colors
The natural appearance of a supplement does not need to be artificially enhanced.
We do not use synthetic colors simply to make our astaxanthin supplements look different or more visually uniform.
Our priority is what is inside the softgel: carefully selected ingredients formulated around natural astaxanthin.
NO Artificial Sweeteners
Astadaily softgels do not need artificial sweetness.
We do not use:

Aspartame

Saccharin

Sucralose
Our astaxanthin supplements are designed to be swallowed as softgels, so artificial sweeteners have no meaningful role in the formulation.
NO High Fructose Corn Syrup
Our supplements are not formulated with high fructose corn syrup.
We focus on ingredients that contribute directly to the intended formulation rather than adding unnecessary sweetening agents.
NO BHT
Oils are an important part of astaxanthin formulation because astaxanthin is fat-soluble.
However, that does not mean we need to formulate our products with BHT.
Astadaily does not use BHT as a synthetic preservative in its astaxanthin supplements. Instead, our formulation and packaging strategy is designed around ingredient quality, stability, and protection.
NO Hydrogenated or Partially Hydrogenated Oils
Astadaily does not use hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils as inexpensive fillers or as a way to modify the physical properties of the finished supplement.
When oil has a role in an Astadaily formula, that role is intentional.
Astadaily Astaxanthin Pure uses an oil-based delivery format appropriate for fat-soluble astaxanthin, while Astadaily All-In-One includes fish oil supplying EPA and DHA as part of its nine-nutrient formulation.
NO Unnecessary Synthetic Coatings
A supplement does not need an elaborate cosmetic coating to deliver astaxanthin effectively.
Astadaily does not formulate its astaxanthin supplements with:

Methacrylate copolymers

Polyethylene glycol

Titanium dioxide
We focus instead on an oil-based softgel format and protective blister packaging.
NO Paraben Preservatives
Astadaily does not use methylparaben or propylparaben in its astaxanthin supplements.
Our approach to product stability is built around formulation, manufacturing controls, ingredient handling, and packaging rather than adding unnecessary paraben preservatives.
NO Magnesium Silicate
We do not use magnesium silicate as an unnecessary flow agent in our astaxanthin formulations.
Our formulation philosophy is to keep supporting ingredients purposeful and appropriate to the delivery system rather than including processing aids simply because they are common in conventional supplement manufacturing.
NO Polydextrose
Polydextrose may be used in some products as a bulking or fiber ingredient.
It has no necessary role in our astaxanthin softgel formulations, so we leave it out.
